Valentines Day - Kids Special

Valentine's day is finally here...
Nikhil is all excited, just for the fact that he gets to give cards to his friends and will be getting few more..
Since, even the little who knows that"Girls love hearts and pink", I went ahead and made almost 2 dozen heart cards.
2 Layers, With matching/contrasting paper with different decorations, embellishments
The Hello Kitty winged heart die, From OMC, used to my hearts content... :-)

Getting the little Super Hero, to sit down and sign all the cards, is a memory that I would cherish forever
Off he went happily, with this little loot bag, with cards and other little gifts.

Small hearts add up to make a Big One :-)

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Almost final batch of VDay cards

Been quite a busy few days and I wasnt able to make anymore..
So looks like this might be the final batch of VDay cards.
Will it or will not it :-)

As always, these cards are again, experiments, as I learn how to use the dies and embossing folders.
The one below, I consider as an experimental success, more than a mistake :-)
Love the TM paper, its color & texture, and how beautiful the embossed areas stands out.
Yet again, I cut out a flower from a scallop circle (used a sizzix die here), but this time went ahead distressed it and stamped it. A writing stamp, which I have fallen in love with.
A couple of tattered leaves, distressed with "love"
Overall, I love this card.
May be a bit too much, that I want to gift this to myself tomorrow :-)

The below card, is the companion card, for its rusty red counterpart, made fully in blue, for a very special friend, who just likes blue and lots of it.
Went with an eyelet in this, than the string & clip I used in the previous one.
Eagerly waiting, for the feedback, when this is presented :-)

Rusty Red and Dusty Blue. Seriously tempting me to make all cards in pair in contrasting colors.
May be I need to give this a try.

Housewarming with love

First joys as a couple...
Building the nest and sharing the joy with friends and family..
To make their housewarming party more special, I wanted to make them a card.
Rummaging through my sheets, I found one with a picket fence.
Initially I was to make the picket fence by hand, but once I saw this sheet, I was sold on this.
So worked on top of this sheet and made a simple card.
Scored lines in the picket fence, to make it look rugged, hand cut this cure little house, filled it with love, scored windows, doors, and a simple Congrats stamped and distressed around the edges, and a ribbon knotted with love..

And a matching, or at least I think so, gift card holder.
I became short of time, to make this gift card holder, and hence just used a flower made from MS rose petal punch outs.
For the inside, gift card holder, I used one of the On the Edge dies.

And, so here's to the new couple, on their life's journey.
May happiness and joy fill every nook and corner of their home and their lives.

A couple of more VDay cards

This is one of the initial cards I made. My first attempts with my Big Shot.
This was one of my favorite stamps, but since it was big, I hadn't learnt proper stamping technique.
Hence, worked on top of the how the stamp came out.
Sort of like, but frankly feel it can be done better.

This one was again, one of the firsts done with the Hello Kitty, Original Leaves, Labels, scallop circle sizzix dies.
My firsts learning all about matching paper. Definite learning/stocking needed here.

VDay2013 - part3

And so, I was able to make a few more cards.
This one, was a girlie card.  Somehow I resisted all my urges and didn't go overboard with sparkly pink.
Again, an impulse purchased stamp, turning out to be my favorite, this season.
Much more than, the stamps, I brought after thinking for more than 10 min. :-)
So here is it.
Pure white and pink. All for girls..

Tools used : Sizzix Valentine'd Embossing folder, random embelishment, Recollections Edge punch and my fav craftsmart Stamp, and Fiskars scissors with matching papers. Of course, the Valentine's Day ribbon.

Happy Bday little Cowboy

It is BirthDay time again.
This time, the hero is a little cowboy.
Just finished this card.

A mustard yellow cardstock scored and checkered with a red marker.
Distressed with faded denim
Blue cardstock punched into small circled and embossed
Name stamped and punched out into smaller circles and lightly distressed.
Blue strip, 1.5" scored for the pant.
Brown strip, 1.25" embossed for weatherly look n lightly brown tinted.
The belt and pant set with eyelets.
Since this was the first time, I was ever setting an eyelet, it did take a while ,mainly to get myself to hammer with force...
A hand drawn cowboy hat and a Birthday tag.
Its Done.
Yee-Haw.
